Who are we?

The feminist movement has found a place in Pakistan. The nature of this place however is constantly evolving and also being questioned simultaneously. And thus, the word 'Feminism' in today's age does not exist within boundaries, it is in-fact held in varying degrees.

We aim to explore feminism that exists in the Pakistan of today through lived experiences. From everyday incidents to huge life changing moments. Instances of realization, hope and despair; we are here to give a face to these experiences. 'The Pakistani Feminist Archive' consists of many such conversations with women that are recorded over a period of time in hopes of sharing accounts that matter. And to realize that we are the movement, not just a part of it.

If you have something to share, we will be happy to have a conversation with you over coffee or zoom, depending on where you are based in. Drop us an email at duaaamir9@gmail.com and we will reach out to you!

Author

Hi! I am Duaa Amir, a writer and currently a South Asia Speaks 2022 fellow. I am working with my mentor Sonia Faleiro on an exploration of feminism told through real life experiences.

I like to paint and plan trips to places that I have on my bucket list. I absolutely love biryani. And tea from any roadside dhaba. My thoughts and writings mostly revolve around art, culture and feminism.
